The list of top Israeli diamond sellers for 2012 was published by Israel’s Ministry of Industry Trade and Labor’s, responsible for the Israeli diamond industry. The list includes the top 25 Israeli diamond companies to export polished diamonds during 2012.
The list of companies follows, with the dollar value of the polished diamonds that they exported last year, measured in millions of dollars.
Shmuel Mordechai, supervisor of the diamond, gem and jewelry authority in the Ministry of Industry Trade and Labor added that from an analysis of these numbers, it emerges that the total exports of polished diamonds of all of the top 25 companies combined stands at $2.148 billion, amounting to 38% of the total dollar amount of all polished diamonds exported from Israel in 2012, which was $5.568 billion worth.
Mordechai notes that 12 firms preferred to remain anonymous and their exports amounted to $878 million, equaling 15% of all polished diamond exports. The total exports of the top 25 firms plus the 12 diamond companies that wished to remain anonymous totals $3.026 billion in value, 54.3% of all polished diamond exports.
It should be noted that the number one firm on the list, Leo Schachter Diamonds Limited, has now topped the list for two years’ running and is one of the top firms in the country.
