Diamond exhibitors at the HKTDC’s Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, which opened this morning, are reporting an unexpectedly positive atmosphere at the show.
Traffic has been strong at the Israel Diamond Institute’s Israel Diamond Pavilion, which is hosting 93 Israeli diamond companies, while another 10 exhibitors are at other locations throughout the show. The morning started off slowly due as the security at the show was increased due to numerous incidents at the previous show and slower entrance procedures.
The Israel Diamond Pavilion, which is located at the Diamond Hall at the AsiaWorld-Expo, hosts three ‘Find Your Diamond’ terminals, where buyers can search a computerized database of all goods offered by Israeli exhibitors at the show, both in English and Chinese.
“We are expecting a busy day tomorrow and wish all the participating diamond companies a successful show. Since this is the first major trade show on the year, a strong show here in Hong Kong will provide promise for a successful year,” says Ira Tsirlina, Chief Marketing Officer at the IDI.
