The 0.71-carat Pink

LEIBISH&CO. WINS THE FIRST FLAWLESS ARGYLE TENDER STONE OFFERED IN 20 YEARS

Leibish & Co., which has been a major participant in the Argyle Tenders over the past decade, has announced that it won the first Internally Flawless Argyle Tender stone offered in over 20 years in Rio Tinto’s recent 2016 Pink Diamonds Tender. Leibish won the tender for a 0.71-carat Fancy Intense Pink Diamond.

According to the company, one rarely sees stones above a carat and almost never see them with an Internally Flawless clarity. Over the past 30 years, sayid Leibish, there has been no more than one or two IF stones offered.

“You are bidding against the wall, and you have no idea what anyone else is willing to pay for the goods”, said Leibish Polnauer, President of Leibish & Co. “Only the highest bidder takes the stone, while the rest go home empty handed”. According to the company’s chief diamond buyer, Shmulik Polnauer, the tender was “one of the finest ever presented”.
