India’s Gem and Jewelry Exports Rise 1.8% to $3.91 billion in February

India’s gem and jewelry exports rose 1.8% year-on-year to $3.91 billion in February, according to Diamond World.

Cut and polished diamond exports rose 3.27% to $2.41 billion. Gold jewelry exports fell 46% to $418.99 million. Silver jewelry exports rose to $413 million (from $266.13 million in February 2016), while coloured gemstone exports fell to $51.29 million (from $65.2 million in February 2016).

Imports of rough diamonds fell 2.9% to $1.51 billion, but rose in volume terms 14.1% to 17.8 million carats. Cut and polished diamond imports fell 19.8% in value terms to $177.89 million.
