imports in terms of value. In total, the United States imported just over $550 million worth of rough diamonds in 2014 – marking a decrease of 3.3 percent from revised 2013 level of $570.2 million. Imports from Israel reached US$215,738,985, worth over US$10,000 per carat on average, according to statistics from the United States Census Bureau. Israel, the European Union and Botswana together accounted for over four fifths of the total U.S. import value of rough diamond shipments in 2014.

U.S. rough diamond re-exports in terms of value to Israel, the European Union and South Africa accounted for over four fifths of the U.S. rough diamonds re-exports in 2014.
