The Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies, led by IDI Chairman Shmuel Schnitzer, has held a toast at the JCK diamond and jewelry trade show in Las Vegas. During an address to the audience, Schnitzer spoke of the importance of the United States’ diamond and jewelry markets to the global diamond industry, and especially to the Israeli Diamond Industry, for which it has served as the main market for many years.

“The JCK show in Las Vegas is the leading event in the jewelry sector in North America. The United States has served as the main market for Israeli diamantaires for many years. We believe in the American market and in the American women who love diamonds and are ready to buy them,” explains Schnitzer, noting that the more than 20,000 visitors who come to the show include all the who's who from the American jewelry sector as well as from outside the United States.

Referring to the opportunities in the United States, Schnitzer continued, “This is an excellent opportunity for Israelis to establish new contacts and to nurture existing contacts. Sales of diamond jewelry in the United States, to distinguish from other parts of the world, have been on an upward climb in the past year or two. The general feeling is that the situation is going to improve. It seems that I have given enough reasons to explain why Israeli diamantaires must participate. I am sure this is a win-win situation and wish everyone great success.”

IDI Chief Marketing Officer Ira Tsirlina reports that Israeli diamond dealers at the show were feeling very optimistic. "The show opened with a great atmosphere and you could feel the optimism in the air. says. We hope that there is a great deal of Mazal U Bracha for us all," says Tsirlina.
