India’s Rough Exports Fall by Nearly 2 Million Carats

India’s rough diamond imports in terms of carats were 12,994,000 carats of diamonds worth US$1,595.51 million in June 2014, marking an increase in terms of both carats and monetary value from imports of 11,658,000 carats of diamonds worth US$1,373.16 million in June 2013  

Diamond Imports to Japan from Israel Up 10% in Value

Japan’s imports of diamonds from Israel totaled 5,442 carats of diamonds worth nearly US$7 million in January 2014. In January, Japan’s imports of diamonds from Israel were worth nearly US$1,300 per carat, compared to the average price per carat of diamonds imported to Japan of US$321.  

Belgium’s Polished Exports to Israel Up in First Half of 2014

Belgium’s polished diamond exports to Israel in the first half of 2014 reached 260,496.43 carats worth nearly US$842 million, marking a decrease of 2.8 percent in terms of carats from the first six months of 2013 and a nearly 20 percent increase in terms of currency from January – June 2013  

Belgium’s Polished Imports from Israel Top 200 Million Carats

The month of May continued the positive streak of this year in rough trading, that is, an improved performance as compared to 2013. There was a slight decline in imports of polished diamonds this month, largely due to the decrease of stones coming in from the USA, Israel and Switzerland

India’s rough diamond imports in terms of carats were 12,147,000 carats of diamonds worth US$1,549.51 million in May 2014, marking a decrease in terms of both carats and monetary value from imports of 14,200,000 carats of diamonds worth US$1,640.74 million in May 2013, according to statistics released by India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).  

Belgium’s Polished Exports to Israel Worth Over US$600 Million

Belgium’s polished diamond exports to Israel in the first four months of 2014 reached 174,155.56 carats worth just over US$600 million, marking an decrease of 0.2 percent in terms of carats from the first four months of 2013 and a nearly 30 percent increase in terms of currency from January – April 2013

India’s cut and polished diamond imports decreased to 900,000 carats in April 2014, from nearly 1.2 million carats a year earlier. In terms of value, cut and polished diamond imports increased to US$417 million in April 2014 from US$401 million in April 2013

Belgium’s polished diamond exports to Israel in the first quarter of 2014 reached 134,502 carats worth just over US$450 million, marking an increase of 10.59 percent in terms of carats from the first three months of 2013 and a 30 percent increase in terms of currency from January – March 2013
