The monthly figures of the Antwerp diamonds trade indicate September was a rather calm but good month. Especially in value, the statistics show an increase compared to September 2012

India’s rough diamond imports in terms of carats were 9,251,000 carats of diamonds worth US$681.59 million in August 2013, marking an increase from imports of 5,914,000 carats of diamonds worth US$514.49 million in August 2012, according to statistics from India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC)

Diamond imports to Japan from Israel increased by just over 50% in terms of carats in July 2013, compared to July 2012. In monetary terms, there was an increase of 25.7% in July 2013 compared to the same month a year earlier

Antwerp’s August monthly figures indicate that the value of diamonds traded in Antwerp rose significantly compared to August 2012. The value of both polished diamonds exports and imports rose by 35.45% and 17.74% respectively. The volume of the export and import of polished diamonds slightly decreased.
 

Diamond Imports to Japan from Israel Up by Over 60% in Terms of Value

Diamond imports to Japan from Israel increased by 47% in terms of carats in June 2013, compared to June 2012. In monetary terms, there was an increase of 61.7% in June 2013 compared to the same month a year earlier.  

Belgium’s Polished Diamond Imports from Israel Increase by Over a Fifth

Antwerp's July diamond statistics indicate that the Antwerp diamonds business is going well. Both imports of polished diamonds and rough diamonds rose significantly compared to the same month in 2012, by 5.78 percent and 11.07 percent respectively in terms of volume. Rough imports total value even increased by a solid 30.04 percent. Rough exports increased by 23.02 percent in carats and 25.25 percent in value, while exports of polished diamonds slightly fell by 0.79 percent.
