/ World

A one-day course aimed at helping retail jewelers to respond to consumer questions about what it means to be ‘green’ will be opened by the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco.

Revere disclosed that the course, which will take place on August 23, will include information on the source of metals and gemstones, green suppliers and how to help promote healthy mining practices.

The syllabus will discuss safe and eco-friendly studio practices, gold testing, ingot making, and future green business certification.

The course will be taught by
Revere Academy faculty member Christine Dhein along with Jennifer Horning, co-founder of Ethical Metalsmiths, a non-profit organization that promotes awareness about ethically sourced materials.
