FIRST ISRAEL DIAMOND PAVILION AT HK INTERNATIONAL JEWELRY MANUFACTURERS SHOW

This year for the first time the Israeli Diamond Industry will be featured in a national pavilion at the Hong Kong International Jewelry Manufacturers’ Show, to be held November 27 – 30 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The pavilion, organized by the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI), will host 26 diamond companies, 17 of them participating in the show for the first time.

Hong Kong is Israel’s second largest market for polished diamonds, accounting for close to 30% of its total exports. Israel’s net polished diamond exports to Hong Kong in 2013 reached $1.7 billion.

The Israeli Diamond Industry has had a major presence for many years at Hong Kong trade shows, with huge pavilions at shows in March, June and September. The shows have been very popular with Israeli diamond companies, and the number of participants in IDI pavilions has grown every year.

IDI will be featuring the “Find Your Diamond” computerized system at the show, which enables buyers to search for exactly the goods they seek among the Israeli exhibitors.

IDI Chairman Moti Ganz said that he was pleased to offer Israeli diamond companies an additional opportunity to exhibit in Hong Kong. “Our participation in trade shows in Hong Kong has proven very successful over time. At these shows we are able to meet buyers not only from Hong Kong, but from all over parts of Asia and even Australia. These are growing markets that appreciate the excellent goods offered by Israeli diamantaires. I’m sure that the November show will become an important part of our trade show calendar,” Ganz said.

IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar expressed optimism concerning the show. “Based on our experience at recent shows in Hong Kong, this show promises to be a good one for our diamond exporters. Some of our diamantaires have been exhibiting here successfully for several years. We have added 17 new companies and our experience has shown that a national pavilion strengthens the participation of all the Israeli exhibitors,” he said.
