UK: ROMANIAN JEWLERY CRIME GANG JAILED FOR A TOTAL OF 47 YEARS

Six men, members of a Romanian crime gang in the UK, have been jailed for a series of burglaries on jewellers between November 2015 and September 2016 in the country. The total loot stolen was worth around £3.1 million ($3.8 million), according to Jewellery Focus.

 

According to the report, the gang members “have been jailed for a total of 47 years for conspiring to commit burglaries at jewellers across nine different counties in the UK”.

 

The pieces stolen included watches, rings, necklaces and other jewelry items, and were stolen from branches of Beaverbrooks, Fraser Hart, Goldsmiths and independent jewelers. All in all, the gang committed 11 raids described as “meticulously planned” by the detective running the investigation.
