Baselworld 2017 has opened for the 100th time in Basel. According to Art of Jewelery, the premier trading show for the entire global watch and jewelry industry, which will run until March 30, is attended by 1,300 exhibitors.
Federal Councillor Alain Berset opened the show, saying: “At Baselworld, beauty, perfection and dedication are celebrated. The watch and jewelry show, Baselworld, also represents a work ethos without which there could be no excellence; an ethos that exemplifies our country, and not just the watch industry”.
Ms Sylvie Ritter, Managing Director of Baselworld, emphasized that for a century, watchmakers and jewellers have presented their creations at Baselworld, saying that “Baselworld is a key date in the calendar of the industry and […] each new edition is awaited with interest, and often with great anticipation”.
