WOMAN TRIES TO STEAL $6.7 MILLION IN DIAMONDS FROM A BOCA RATON STORE

A woman trying to steal diamonds worth $6.7 million from a Boca Raton jewelry store was caught on tape and arrested on the spot, according to several news reports.

Fatima Milanovic, 46, entered ECJ LUXE Collection in Mizner Park, and said she represented a potential buyer who had called earlier. She was shown into the VIP safe room to inspect the stones.

She agreed to the deal, but insisted on wrapping the diamonds in her own materials. Then, she tried to switch the real diamonds with a pre-packed, similar package she brought in her purse.

She was promptly caught in the act, and the owner closed the vault and called the police. Milanovic was arrested and released on bond.
