IDWI last year - diamond week

NEW VIDEO INVITES EXHIBITORS AND BUYERS TO IDWI IN FEBRUARY

A new video released this week invites international exhibitors and buyers to attend the 6th International Diamond Week in Israel (IDWI), held February 13 – 16, 2017.

According to the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE), this year’s International Diamond Week will offer a huge variety of goods by hundreds of Israeli and international exhibitors. In addition, multiple international tenders of rough and polished diamonds will be held during the week. This year IDWI will also offer a rich social program including free sightseeing to Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. As in the past buyers are being offered free accommodations for three nights in nearby hotels. The event is expected to attract several hundred more buyers than before.

This year, for the first time, buyers will be able to search all stocks on offer at IDWI, and to plan their purchases in advance using the innovative GET DIAMONDS system. GET DIAMONDS, the Israeli Diamond Industry’s official online B2B trading platform, will establish a protected channel dedicated to IDWI that will post stocks on offer by Israeli exhibitors at the event. The channel will enable buyers to conduct searches according to a variety of criteria. Registered participants at IDWI will receive access to this channel at least a week in advance of the show.

Alrosa President Andrey Zharkov will be a guest of honor of the International Diamond Week in Israel (IDWI). While in Israel, Zharkov will meet with the leaders of IDE to discuss the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding which was signed last year. The MOU promotes cooperation between the two organizations in a variety of areas. Zharkov will also address a group of leading IDE firms where he will present Alrosa’s vision for the next several years and the challenges facing the global diamond industry.

In addition, a high-level delegation of the Armenian Jewelers Association (AJA) has already approved its arrival to the three-day event. The visit of the delegation, to be headed by AJA President Sarkis Nourian, will mark the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Israeli exchange. A signing ceremony will take place at IDWI, under the auspices of the President of the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri.

Chow Tai Fook, the largest jewelry brand in China and one of Asia’s leading jewelers, will also be sending a delegation of executives to the IDWI. While at the IDWI, the Chow Tai Fook representatives will meet with leading members of the Israeli Diamond Industry for a discussion of recent trends in the Asian jewelry market and directions for the future.
