Graff Diamonds has unveiled the largest flawless heart-shaped diamond in the world, weighing 118.78 carats, Jewellry Focus reports.
Named the Graff Venus, the stone has been graded a D colour, flawless type IIA with excellent polish, excellent symmetry and no fluorescence. The stone was cut from from a 357-carat rough diamond unearthed in the Letseng mine in Lesotho in 2015. From discovery to completion, the process of analysis, cutting and polishing took 18 months.
Laurence Graff, chairman of Graff Diamonds, said: “We were given a once in a lifetime opportunity with the Graff Venus and we created absolute perfection [..] the stone itself is beyond words. It is the most beautiful heart-shape diamond I have ever seen”.
