About IDI

The Israeli diamond industry plays a pivotal role in the global diamond industry and trade. Due to its extensive experience, strong ethics, unique skills, innovative thinking, and locally developed diamond technology, the Israeli industry has a well-established and respected reputation.

Israel also maintains a leading role in the Kimberley Process to reduce the flow of conflict diamonds, thus ensuring the integrity and good standing of the global diamond industry.

The Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) is an industry body acting to promote the diamond industry in Israel, and position Israel as a global diamond hub.

The IDI is a is a non-profit, public interest company, supported by the government, that unites all bodies involved in the local diamond trade, and promotes the trade and export of Israeli diamonds in multiple ways: marketing and PR; business promotion; professional training; promotion of online diamond trade, regulation, and security; consulting services; and more.

The IDI spearheads various initiatives to promote and strengthen the industry, such as maintaining a website in both English and Hebrew, collaborating with leading international trade platforms, hosting Israeli pavilions at all major international gem and jewelry shows, running an innovation center, and operating a luxurious compound for selling jewelry to end consumers, among others.
