Kentucky-born Molly Sims has been heating up advertising campaigns for Chanel, Old Navy and Cover Girl ever since she walked away from Vanderbilt U law school to become an all-American supermodel. On top of her modeling career, she has acted in the TV series “Las Vegas” and in a series of movies, including “Starsky & Hutch”.
As a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, Sims may be used to having men gawk at what little she wears onto the set of a photo shoot. But for the 2006 SI Swimsuit Issue, she drew a whole lot of stares not for her curves but for the material she used to cover them: a $30 million diamond bikini, designed by Susan Rosen. The minimalist bikini, made of over 150 carats of D Flawless Steinmetz Diamonds, boasts some of the world’s rarest stones, including a 51-carat pear-shaped diamond and a 30-carat emerald cut.
Sims is known to wear a polished diamond-studded bangle bracelet, a gift from her husband on their wedding day this past September. The couple is now expecting a baby, Sims announced in January.
