MARIA SHARAPOVA: DIAMOND CELEBRITY OF THE WEEK

Tennis star Maria Sharapova must love-love Tiffany & Co’s jewelry. The three-time Russian Grand Slam winner has partnered with the US jeweler since 2009 and faithfully sports their diamonds at Grand Slam Tournaments.

In 2010, Tiffany & Co unveiled its yellow diamond collection – made with stones from Australia’s Ellendale mine – and Sharapova took the court at the US Open adorned in a pair of white and yellow diamond drop earrings set in 18 karat gold and platinum.

Maria Sharapova and Tiffany continued their partnership in the 2011 Grand Slam tennis tournaments: At the Australian Open, Maria wore a pair of leaf-shaped diamond earrings from the Frank Gehry collection, saying that the design reflected the “spontaneous and graceful lines of Gehry’s architecture.”

For the 2011 French Open, Sharapova selected a pair of Tiffany rose-cut diamond earrings, which she said were lightweight and perfect to wear on the court and “sparkled with every movement.”
At the 2011 Wimbledon Championships, Sharapova could be seen in diamond earrings from the company’s Legacy Collection that feature round brilliant diamonds set in platinum.
“Wearing Tiffany diamonds on or off the court is always a special experience,” the tennis star says.

But it seems that Maria Sharapova always has time for more endorsements. The Tag Heuer Formula 1 Maria Sharapova Ladies Watch features a pink mother of pearl diamond in a stainless steel case and band, with a bezel embellished with 120 diamonds.

Off court, Sharapova has been wearing an engagement ring since October 2010. Her finace, Lakers player Sasha Vujacic, presented her with a cushion-cut diamond on a platinum band. Experts say the stone weighs 7-8 carats and value the ring at about $250,000.
