Like most pop stars, former teen queen Britney Spears loves to pile on diamond jewelry.
Before marrying her former backup dancer Kevin Federline, Spears turned tradition on its head by splurging on her own diamond engagement ring. The singer picked out a $40,000 four-carat cushion-cut diamond ring by jewelry designer Cynthia Wolff that featured a split platinum pave diamond setting.
Nine months after they were married K-Fed presented his wife with an “upgrade” – a 5.5-carat round solitaire diamond set in a platinum band, also by Cynthia Wolff. Sadly, diamonds proved to be more “forever” than the couple’s marriage.
Federline wasn’t the only one to shower Britney with diamonds. When she was dating Justin Timberlake, the musician/actor/budding business mogul gave her a diamond necklace in the shape of a music box that opened to reveal a pink diamond bee. And the pop star also has a diamond necklace in the shape of a “B” that was a present from none other than Madonna.
In May of 2010, as Spears appeared to be putting her troubled life back in order, her representatives confirmed that she was dating her agent, Jason Trawick. Paparazzi snapped Spears sporting a diamond on her left ring finger, and B herself tweeted pictures of herself wearing the round-cut diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds set in white gold.
But interest in her love life aside, the biggest media splash Spears has made with diamonds to date is probably her 2004 “Toxic” video, in which she wore a clingy “nude” dress studded with diamonds.
