I’ve been a member of the Israel Diamond Exchange for 30 years, starting in diamond polishing, sales, and rough imports. Recently, I’ve focused on direct jewelry sales.

Where is the industry headed?
I think it will operate as it has. I work with lab-grown diamonds, but 60% of my sales are natural.
Which diamond are you most proud of?
I crafted a diamond-studded Star of David necklace for a client in Los Angeles. After recent events, it took on deeper meaning and was even featured in Israeli magazines.
What’s the most expensive diamond you’ve sold?
I once sold a 50-carat diamond for $800,000—an exceptional piece. Larger jewelry sales tend to be with clients abroad.
Who was your first client?
I joined a networking group, and someone needed an engagement ring, so I created one. He was one of my first clients.

What technology has helped your business?
Social media, especially Facebook, has boosted my business significantly.

If you weren’t in diamonds, what would you do?
I’d be by the sea. I volunteer with the maritime police in Tel Aviv and love the water.
