IDE MEMBERS MEET WITH DE BEERS DELEGATION

Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) directors and senior members of the diamond industry met with a delegation from De Beers last week, headed by De Beers CEO Bruce Cleaver, accompanied by Senior VP Paul Rowley and VP Nicholas Moltke. The purpose of De Beers’ in Israel was to meet with leadership of the diamond industry as well as major clients, and to get an in-depth knowledge of the Israeli diamond industry.

 

The meeting was attended by IDE President Yoram Dvash, Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association President Kobi Kor, IDI Chairman Shmuel Schnitzer, IDE Executive VP Hezi Blum, IDE directors Meir Dalumi and Shay Schnitzer, and IDE Managing Director Eli Avidar.

 

In the meeting, the parties discussed global rough and polished prices as opposed to market forces. Additionally, the IDE updated its guests on different projects, such as the new manufacturing facility for large stones at the IDE complex.

 

At the end of the visit, the De Beers delegation visited the new tech hub now being erected, and discussed the possibility of international players entering the hub as partners, together with the government of Israel.
