Karelian Diamond Resources plc, the diamond exploration company focused on Finland, has received the Diamond Mining Permit for the Lahtojoki diamond project, according to a press release from the diamond explorer.
The Lahtojoki diamondiferous pipe is situated in a 55 hectare claim area in the Kuopio-Kaavi area of Finland, a highly favorable location with excellent infrastructure including good road access and power availability. Karelian believes that the Lahtojoki kimberlite pipe has the potential to become a profitable low strip open pit diamond mine.

The acquisition of the Lahtojoki diamond pipe mining permit complements our existing licenses and is a major step forward for our diamond program in Finland,” enthuses Karelian Diamond Resources Chairman Professor Richard Conroy.
