De Beers’ “Modern Tiara” Features 40 Diamond Carats

De Beers has unveiled a new jewelry piece made entirely of De beers’ mined stones – a “modern tiara” using 40 carats of diamonds and a “8.49-carat pear-shaped gem at the center,” according to IDEX Online.

The tiara, which is part of De Beers’ Metamorphosis high jewelry collection, is a one-off inspired “by the constant evolution of nature and the transformative power of natural diamonds, which represent glaciers and the ‘bewitching beauty of icicles,’” according to the report.

The piece is a four-stranded tiara crafted from colored titanium and platinum, and “features a set of six additional fancy-cut diamonds from De Beers mines in Botswana, Canada, Namibia, and South Africa.”
