It took nine months to make them, and now they’re up for sale: At $17 million, the Passion Diamond Shoes – made by Dubai-based shoemaker Jada Dubai in collaboration with Passion Jewellers – features 236 diamonds, together with two D-flawless diamonds of 15 carats each in each heel.
The one-of-a-kind pair of shoes went on display at the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai last month. Created and mounted in Italy, the pair on display was a prototype 36 size of European Union standard. According to Passion Jewellers, the pair is now available in a specific size provided by the customer after the sale.
The Passion Diamond Shoes are part of a wider collection including three other shoes made with diamonds, rubies, gold and pearls. One highlight is the Diamond Pearl sandals, which are priced at $25,000. There is also a pair called Ruby Stilettos, which feature rubies, gold and diamonds, priced at $27,000.
