Born as Heather Sweet in Michigan in 1972, Dita von Teese always knew her career would take her to realm of the fabulous. Fascinated by 1940s cinema from an early age, von Teese has revitalized burlesque performance in America, brining as much flair and glamour to the trade as possible.
von Teese was married to rocker Marilyn Manson for two years. For her engagement, Manson gave her a 1930s, 7-carat European round-cut diamond engagement ring. Their wedding appeared as a feature in the pages of Vogue. Her love of diamonds goes beyond the occasional piece of jewelry and in 2005, she appeared at a benefit in New York wearing mostly $5 million worth of diamonds – and not much else.
