Figures released by the Fancy Color Research Foundation (FCRF) shows that Fancy color diamonds experienced a second consecutive quarter of subdued growth. According to IDEX Online, they still outpaced colorless diamonds, which have experienced a “long-term decline.”
The FCRF Index, monitoring prices across various colors, sizes, and intensities, recorded a 0.4% increase in Q3, following 0.5% in Q2 and 1.3% in Q1. Over the last 12 months, the Index has risen by 3.1%.
Among all color categories, vivid-grade diamonds exhibited the most significant increase, at 1%. Yellow diamonds had the strongest performance, with a 0.5% increase over the previous quarter, while pink diamonds saw a 0.4% increase, and blue diamonds experienced a slight 0.1% decrease.
FCRF Data Supplier Matthew Aldridge said: “In times when interest rates rise and white diamond prices decrease, it’s intriguing to observe the price resilience of fancy color diamonds. Their stability instills confidence in retailers who hold substantial inventory.”
