GJEPC: IIJS Premiere Has Generated a Record $8.4 Billion in Orders

IIJS Premiere in Mumbai, one of the largest and most prestigious jewelry exhibitions in India, has done extremely well, generating “over $8.4 billion of business” over the six-day event – a rise of 41% year-on-year, IDEX Online reports.

Vipul Shah, chairman of GJEPC (Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council) which organized the show, said: “IIJS Premiere 2023 is estimated to have seen business worth 70,000 crore being generated ($8.438 billion) which is far beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. As an exhibition, IIJS has truly come into a league of its own.”

The $8.438 billion far exceeds last year’s figure ($5.958 billion) and expectations, as organizers predicted the figure would be around the same as 2022.

“IIJS Premiere 2023 has achieved unprecedented success,” added Shah, “surpassing all previous records and exceeding our expectations. It has singlehandedly reversed market sentiments and kickstarted the business cycle into high gear, perfectly timed ahead of the festive and wedding seasons.”

IIJS Premiere featured more than 1,850 exhibitors, with 3250 stalls, and over 35,000 trade visitors from India and 80 other countries.
