James Allen, one of the largest online diamond and bridal jewelry retailers in the US, has opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Washington D.C.’s Georgetown.
The grand opening of the store was attended by owner and co-founders and husband and wife James Allen Schultz and Michele Sigler. Guests were treated to food, drinks, free manicures and one lucky buyer was gifted a $500 diamond.
The new physical space provides phone charging stations, virtual reality headsets with information on James Allen’s “4cs”, iPads with free games around diamonds and even a “perfect selfie” station with after effects. There’s also open product displays to try on popular engagement ring designs, made of silver and Zirconium, and a free coffee bar with tablets for browsing and grading diamond quality. The staff has an in-house gemologist to help customers match the ring to their budget.

Established in 2006, James Allen allows its customers to choose the stone they want set in their jewelry and even design their piece. In September 2017, it was acquired by diamond jewelry retailer Signet.
