After what it calls a successful pilot program, Swarovski plans to roll out its lab-grown range of diamond jewelry “across 200 stores in the US and Canada,” IDEX Online reports.
The Created Diamonds collection features earrings, rings, necklaces, and bracelets with 0.25-carat and larger lab-grown diamonds. Swarovski will make the collection available online from next month and in stores in 2023.
According to the report, the Austria-based company “will offset the energy used to produce the diamonds and the process will be certified as climate neutral.”
CEO Alexis Nasard, the first non-family member to head the company in its 127-year history, said: “Swarovski’s created diamonds are 100% real – they are identical to mined diamonds in every way except their origin.”
