A 53.04-carat D-color, internally flawless diamond is anticipated to sell for up to $5 million at Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels sale in New York on June 7, IDEX Online reports.
According to a GIA report from last November, the diamond boasts “very good polish, good symmetry, and no fluorescence.”
With an estimated value between $3 million and $5 million, this diamond will be among the first items sold under Sotheby’s new pricing structure introduced on May 20, which features a 26% reduction in buyer premiums. Another notable auction item is a David Morris necklace featuring Kashmir sapphires ranging from 2.40 to 11.37 carats, as well as graduated oval-shaped diamonds, also estimated to rake in $3 to $5 million.
