The Gemological Institute of America (GIA), which took over Las Vegas based AGS Laboratories (American Gem Society) in what was being described as a “strategic collaboration in October 2022, has launched an AGS supplement to its reports recently.
According to IDEX Online, the AGS supplement to GIA diamond reports “will be available for D-to-Z natural and lab grown round brilliant and fancy shape diamonds at an additional cost.”
Katherine Bodoh, CEO of AGS, commented: “The new AGS Ideal Report available through GIA marks a milestone in our shared history. GIA set the standard for grading color and clarity, and AGS was the first to talk about light performance and cut grade. Now you can have a report that combines both philosophies and expertise. This is a big win for the industry and consumers.”
