ANJIN INVESTMENT ALLEGEDLY SMUGGLED 3.7 MILLION CARATS FROM ZIMBABWE TO SHANGHAI

According to a new report in The Zimbabwe Independent, quoted by Rough & Polished, “informed mining executives” are accusing Chinese diamond mining company Anjin Investments of smuggling 3.7 million carats of diamonds, worth about $200 million, from the Marange mine to Shanghai.

The sources claim that Anjin decided to take the diamonds to Shanghai following the seizure of local mining companies diamonds worth millions by the United States’ Office of Foreign Assets Control.

According to one source, at current KP rates, “the siphoned diamonds are worth $190,920,000.”
