“Bleu Royal” Diamond Could Fetch $50 million at Auction

Christie’s Geneva is set to auction the Bleu Royal, an extremely rare 17.61-carat gem, during its upcoming Magnificent Jewels sale on November 7. The estimated value of the diamond ranges from $35 million to $50 million, IDEX Online reports.

The internally Flawless Fancy Vivid blue diamond – the largest of its kind ever to go under the hammer – is set in a ring and has been a cherished piece within a private collection for the last 50 years.

Christie’s has emphasized the rarity of such exceptional blue diamonds, noting that throughout its 257-year history, the auction house has only handled three blue diamonds exceeding 10 carats. Rahul Kadakia, Christie’s international head of jewelry, described the Bleu Royal as “a true miracle of nature.”
