A Leviev diamond ring weighing 35-carats sold for $2.7 million at Bonhams New York, beating its high-estimate of $2.5 million.
The platinum ring, signed Leviev, is set with a type IIa emerald-cut, D-color, VVS1-clarity diamond, and “accented by a round brilliant-cut diamond-set gallery and shank with a total weight of 1.90 carats,” according to IDEX Online.
The auction, entitled “The Perfect Jewelry Box: Jewels from an Impressive Southern California Collection,” was a “white glove sale” and buyers were found for all 119 lots offered. Other items of note included a 22.10-carat oval diamond ring, which sold for $1.6 million; and a 11.37-carat emerald-cut diamond ring, which sold for $800,000. All in all, the sale raked in $8.1 million.
