De Beers To Replace Bruce Cleaver as CEO on February 20

De Beers has announced that Al Cook will formally take over as CEO Bruce Cleaver on February 20, IDEX Online reports. The change at the helm was announced last October. Cleaver will become co-chairman of the company.

Cook has served as the executive vice president of exploration and production international at Equinor, Norway’s state-owned petroleum company.

“I am very pleased to be joining De Beers Group as chief executive officer. De Beers is a truly iconic company with a long, incredible history and an exciting future,” he said when his appointment was announced.
