DECEMBER: KIMBERLEY EXPECTS HIGHER OUTPUT AT LERALA

Kimberley Diamonds reported it is due to process 62,500 tonnes of ore in December at its Lerala diamond mine. Rough&Polished reports that the company will recover about 12,500 carats from the mine in Botswana.

In November, Kimberley processed 46,085 tonnes of ore resulting in 9,338 carats. The month before it processed 52,408 tonnes of ore yielding 10,156 carats.

According to the company’s press release, “the lower processed ore tonnes in November compared to that achieved in October was the result of significant maintenance being performed on the existing secondary scrubber early in the month. Increased throughput over the remainder of the month partially offset this stoppage.”
