On Tuesday of last week (October 18), the Golden State Warriors received their 2021-22 NBA championship rings in a special pregame ceremony. Crafted by Jason of Beverly Hills, the ring is full of symbolism and team lore but, more importantly, each ring is full of stunning diamonds.
According to reports, the ring features about 16 carats of yellow and white diamonds – the team’s colors – set into yellow gold to represent the team’s 16 wins during the NBA 2022 playoffs. Incidentally, this is the first championship ring to feature primarily yellow diamonds. 7 carats of yellow cushion-cut diamonds on the bezel represent the team’s seven championships, and 43 baguette diamonds in the bridge represent Stephen Curry’s 43-point performance in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
There’s also a secret compartment on the top of the ring that unveils the trophies won by each individual player. It is accessible via a lever designed within the architectural features of Chase Center (the Warriors’ home arena), which is depicted on the side of the ring. The sides of the ring also include 7 championship trophies to represent the GSW’s seven NBA championships and the team’s “Just Us” mantra.
