According to the latest data from the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), quoted by Rough & Polished, India’s total gross export of Cut & Polished diamonds in August amounted to $1360.39 million – a 27.61% decline year-over-year.
Cut & Polished diamond imports for August totaled $174.70 million, reflecting a significant growth of 32.58% year-over-year.
From April to August 2023, exports of Cut & Polished diamonds totaled $7028.31 million – a 30.27% fall year-over-year. Cut & Polished diamond imports for the period reached $621.25 million, showing a modest growth of 0.72% year-over-year.
Meanwhile, from April to August 2023, provisional gross exports of Polished LGDs totaled $562.54 million, showing a decline of 26.55% year-over-year.
