A large collection of jewelry, clothing, and artworks once owned by the legendary American journalist, Barbara Walters, is set to go under the hammer at Bonhams in New York, according to IDEX Online.
One of the standout pieces is a 13.84-carat Harry Winston diamond ring with an estimated value ranging from $600,000 to $900,000, which Walters received from Merv Adelson, the real estate developer and television executive who became both her third and fourth husband, as they married and divorced twice.
The auction will also feature a pair of JAR gem-set earrings, estimated at $200,000 to $300,000, as well as a ruby and diamond brooch valued at $12,000 to $18,000.
Barbara Walters achieved numerous historic milestones during her illustrious career. She was the first woman to co-host a U.S. network news program on NBC’s Today show and went on to become the first female network news anchor on ABC Evening News. She passed away in December at the age of 93 after a battle with dementia. Her estimated net worth was around $170 million.
