The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) has announced that Kering and Richemont, among other jewelers, have rejoined the organization following their high-profile departures in April over the organization’s ties with Russia.
The London-based organization said in a statement quoted by IDEX Online: “Most of the small number of members who briefly left the RJC in late March rescinded their resignations within a few weeks, including all the Kering and Richemont maisons, retaining their long-standing RJC membership. Neither LVMH nor its maisons resigned, and all remain members of the RJC.”
However, Pandora and Watches of Switzerland, which left in April along with Kering, Richemont and others, are not currently listed on the RJC’s online register. Alrosa also resigned the organization in April.
