Two landmark pink diamonds are set to be sold within a week, IDEX Online reports. On November 8, at its Magnificent Jewels auction, Christie’s Geneva will offer an 18.18-carat gem called “Fortune Pink” – the largest pear-shaped, vivid pink diamond ever to be auctioned, with an estimated $25 million to $35 million.
Christie’s Geneva said of the Fortune pink: “With its auspicious weight of 18.18 carats (which translates to definite prosperity) this exceptional pink diamond of phenomenal color will certainly bring good fortune to its new owner.”
Then, on November 15, Angola’s state-owned diamond trading company Sodiam will sell the 170.2-carat “Lulo Rose”, the largest pink diamond found in the last 300 years, at a rough tender.
On October 7, the 11.15-carat Williamson Pink Star diamond, an extremely rare Fancy Vivid Pink, was sold to an undisclosed buyer for $57,735,400 (including the auction premium) at Sotheby’s Hong Kong. The cushion-shaped diamond set a new world record for the highest price per carat for a diamond sold at auction.
