ROCKWELL DIAMONDS CEO RESIGNS, REPLACED BY FORMER DE BEERS MANAGER

James Campbell, CEO of Rockwell Diamonds, has resigned his post and will be replaced by Tjaart Willemse, formerly an operations manager at De Beers, according to several news sources. Board members Stephen Dietrich and Rick Menell have also tendered their resignations as directors.

According to a board committee review in late August, the performance of the Remhoogte acquisition has been below plan, and the construction of the new Wouterspan plant is behind schedule with a higher cost. According to Rockwell, “the board determined that further intervention on operations and plant completion was necessary while new opportunities are being assessed”.

Campbell’s resignation will take effect in November. He will continue to remain a director of the Company.
