The Attallah Cross, a diamond-set pendant worn by the late Princess Diana on several occasions, will highlight Sotheby’s annual Royal and Noble sale in London on January 6, 2023.
Estimated to sell for a price range of $96,000 to $144,400, the 5.25-carat piece was created in the 1920s by court jewelers Garrard in the fleurée style (known for its flowery design details), and is set with square-cut amethysts and circular-cut diamonds.
The cross was purchased by Naim Ibrahim Attallah CBE, a Christian Palestinian-British businessman and owner of The Women’s Press, who loaned it to Princess Diana several times over the years. It has never been seen publicly after her death.
