The Dubai-based Stargems Group has chosen to unveil a “one-of-a-kind” 103.49-carat polished diamond at the recently concluded Dubai Diamond Conference, Diamond World reports.

The D-Flawless, Type II-A, emerald cut diamond, dubbed “The Light of Africa”, was cut from a 299.3-carat rough diamond unearthed from the Cullinan mine in South Africa by Petra Diamonds. It was acquired by Stargems Group last year.

According to Stargems, the newly cut stone “inspires awe at sight, catching and reflecting light for mesmerizing effect.” StargemsGroup Chairman, Shailesh Javeri commented that “acquiring the rough stone from Petra Diamonds last year was a significant achievement for us […]”.
