FOURTH DE BEERS DIAMOND SIGHT OF 2016 DOWN TO US$630 MILLION

The value of rough diamond sales, which includes both Global Sightholder Sales as well as Auction Sales, for the fourth sales cycle of 2016 (up to 23rd May 2016) reached US$630 million, according to a press release from the De Beers Group of Companies.

The company has also restated its actual sales value from its third sales cycle to be US$666 million.

“As normal seasonal trends return to the market, we are encouraged by the continued stability of demand for rough diamonds shown in the fourth sales cycle of 2016,” says De Beers Group Chief Executive Philippe Mellier.
