Piaget

Piaget is a Swiss jeweler and luxury watchmaker and is acknowledged to be one of the most prestigious brands in the world.

The firm was founded in 1874 by Georges Piaget in a small village in the Jura mountains of Switzerland, focusing on the manufacture of pocket watches and watch parts for big-name brands. The company soon became known for its own line of formidable watches in the early twentieth century, which it eventually trademarked under its own name in 1943.

Piaget’s landmark timepieces include its 1957 Calibre 9P, the first watch only 2 millimeters in thickness, and its 1960 Calibre 12P, at 2.3 millimeters the thinnest automatic watch in the world.

In 1959, the firm expanded to Geneva and opened a boutique there, the company’s first. Over the years, the company has released a number of iconic watches of excellent taste.

In 1988, Piaget was purchased by the Richemont Group, which was then known as Vendome.
