Wearing Pandora jewelry

Pandora

Pandora started out as a Danish jewelry company thirty years ago but has expanded into over 70 countries around the world. Firm founders Per and Winnie Enevoldsen opened their first Pandora store in 1983 in the country’s capital city, Copenhagen. Pandora sold necklaces, pendants and earrings, but after their popularity grew, the firm began to sell wholesale as well as retail.

Within a year of opening their first store, Pandora opened up a factory in Thailand to produce its pieces, which they then contracted a designer to make exclusively for them.

If Pandora is reknown for producing one particular type of jewelry, it is for charms and charm bracelets: the firm has created over 800 types, using precious metals and precious gems, and all are crafted by hand. The company has patented a bracelet threading system which allows charms to be added and subtracted as desired.
