British actress Elizabeth Hurley attracts plenty of attention for her well-publicized love affairs, and knows how to keep the spotlight on her by piling on plenty of impressive diamond jewelry.
In 2002 – two months after giving birth to her son, Damien – Hurley attended a children’s charity benefit wearing a £500,000 watch set with 100 carats of diamonds; a pair of diamond stud earrings valued at £130,000 and a 19-carat diamond ring by Bond St. jewelry Mouawad, valued at a quarter million pounds.
Two years later, at a benefit for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, Elizabeth Hurley selected diamond jewelry by Chopard, wearing a Chopard diamond bracelet; a 12-carat pear-shaped diamond pendant; pear-shaped diamond earrings; and topping it all off with a Chopard diamond tiara set with emerald-cut diamonds and a 56-carat pear-shaped diamond.
When Hurley’s ex-husband Arun Nayar proposed in 2007, he presented the actress with a 15.09-carat Asscher cut diamond engagement ring, which also featured a pave diamond band. Chopard designed both the engagement ring and her wedding band, which was set with 20 square-cut diamonds weighing a total of 3.91 carats.
Elizabeth Hurley divorced Nayar in April 2011 and in October that year became engaged to Australian cricket player Shane Warne, who presented her with a nine-carat square-cut sapphire ring flanked by two trilliant-cut diamonds. None of the reports of the gift mentioned the designer’s name, but the ring is estimated to be worth at least £30,000.
