State of the Majors Report: Signet Remains the Biggest Superseller in the US

According to National Jeweler magazine’s annual State of the Majors report on $100 million supersellers, Signet has remained the top-grossing jeweler in the US in 2022. The report assessed a total of 36 retailers in North America with sales of $100 million or more, which is a decrease of two from the previous year. The rankings were based on the most recent available figures.

In 2022, Signet’s total sales of watches and jewelry, both in its 2,854 physical stores and online, amounted to $7.29 billion. This figure is more than double the revenue generated by Walmart, which takes the second spot with $3.38 billion in sales.

Swiss luxury conglomerate Richemont experienced a significant jump in the rankings, climbing from sixth place last year to third. Its sales increased by over 20% to reach $3.37 billion.

Despite generating higher revenues, Amazon, Costco, and Macy’s have all slipped down in the rankings, now occupying the fourth, sixth, and seventh positions, respectively.

Pandora, previously in seventh place, has dropped to ninth. LVMH, Nonatum, and Bucherer have all moved up in the rankings.
