ISRAEL DIAMOND EXCHANGE PRESIDENT YORAM DVASH EXPRESSES HORROR AT BELGIAN ATTACKS

Israel Diamond Exchange President Yoram Dvash has expressed his horror at the news emanating from Belgium of the bomb attacks at Brussels airport and at the Metro station in the city that killed more than 30 people.

“I have been at Brussels airport many times after visiting Antwerp on diamond business and I know the departures hall like the back of my hand, as do thousands of other Israeli diamantaires,” said Dvash.

“I have been in touch with friends and acquaintances in the diamond trade in Antwerp and it appears that no diamond people are involved. But this is much bigger than the diamond industry. Just last weekend in Istanbul we saw innocent Israelis killed and wounded in a suicide bomb attack. This is not new to us Israelis, but it is shocking all the same. We send our wishes for a speedy and full recovery for the injured and our condolences to the families of the people killed,” said Dvash.
